Kilauea Military Camp

Near the front across the street, there is a trail that leads to the crater rim hiking trail. Could walk the whole park if you love to hike. Very peaceful, Pele presents can still be felt. Beautiful Sunrise with songs of the native birds. The pictures attached are of the Volcano National Park drivable and short walks to have a look as you pass through the old lava flows

Love this place! My favorite place to stay when visiting. They sell everything you need (food, desserts, drinks), but you can't refuel your vehicle here. It's located inside the national park. The store/BX/PX/ exchange sells frozen foods, snacks, drinks (soda, water, alcohol), and souvenirs. You can also get wood for the cabin fireplaces. The cabins have plenty of room. You can bowl here, but we were told the movie theater wasn't operational when we asked to use it (it's a room with a few recliners and a large TV). Breakfast is a buffet. At night you can drive into the park and visit overlooks.

My family and I enjoyed our time here. Near the tourist attraction to boot. We didn’t stay at the hotel because we had booked somewhere else but they had a variety of good amenities to entertain ourselves with. Bowling alley, arcade games, food service, etc. Its open to visitors but you have to be active duty or a veteran to stay at the cabins. Overall, a good place to check out!

Wow This was a great experience and wonderful staff , plus the location is fantastic to stay and do daily and night walks around the volcano. The Food was fantastic on Friday / Saturday Night Dinners :) The Lave Lounge Was Rockin ! Our Room Was fantastic , jetted tub and a fire place , we used both :) Full size Kitchen was a plus ✔️ Everyone here is friendly appreciative, and helpful every time I asked. The General store has everything you need to survive a few days. Also there is a fuel Station or pump at KMC ! We will be visiting here again :) Chris the Operations Mgr is a very friendly & Helpful Gentleman . The Best Part They Respectfully & Honorably Post Old Glory Daily 🇺🇸

I love to a stay at Kilauea Military Camp. One truly great benefit of my military retirement. Cabins are nice and well maintained. Location inside Volcano National Park is great. Just a short walk to the crater's edge treats you to spectacular views of the volcano crater. Camp has a bowling alley, general store, laundry facility, restuarant and bar, a cafe, and gas station. Must be active or retired military to enjoy this camp. You can also enjoy the camp if you have a active or retired military sponsor.

This is my second time staying at KMC--first was 10 years ago. While the location cannot be beat, unfortunately, the cabins are long overdue for an upgrade for health and safety reasons. We rented one-bedroom cabins. While cozy, the overwhelming mold infestation and dilapidated bathrooms left much to be desired. Drywall compound to fix holes, high-gloss paint, and an operational extractor would likely be simple fixes, but the fan did not seem to be fully functional. There were also ants, which were getting in easily through the many cracks and gaps due to shifting foundation thanks to regular earthquakes. When an earthquake over 2.0 hits (we had about 4 during our weekend stay), the cabin is super noisy. We went to the general store just before closing on Friday night only to have the cashier yell out that he was closing. I guess he had a hot date to get to? The people he was checking out at that moment thought he was responding to their question about lack of ice, so everyone was very confused and taken aback. We opted to leave and returned the next day to a thankfully nicer cashier who was in no rush for us to leave. Note that the general store does not accept Star Card.
